The first quarter of the year is behind us and the "Southern Cruisers Ocala Chapter" has really been busy. Although Frank Armano's benefit was held in the last quarter of last year it was a spectacular success. Not only did the coordinator's and participants manage to raise over $1800.00 for the Armano family, it also helped Frank's self esteem and sense of pride. The outpouring of love for Frank and Loretta was made evident by the overwhelming response from all the people who made their presence felt by participating and giving generously. A heartfelt thank you to all involved.

Once again The Ocala Chapter stepped up to the plate and smashed last years $500.00 donation to over $600.00 this year for the "Walk of Life". The yard sale was not only a blistering success, it was a ball as well. The honorary "Master of the Flame" award goes to Charlie Blisset. His burger flipping and hot dog turning technique was made evident by the satisfied faces after the event. we were all starving and Charlie mustered up enough energy to take on the grill. Thanks man, your top dog in my book. The bike show was also a success with top honors going to the best bike in show, a 23 year old moped owned by Billy and Brenda Powell. Just goes to show, some things just never go out of style. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going with the bike show next year so I can give the moped a run for it's money.

Mid June will bring the 3rd annual "Trip to the Hills" 7 day vacation. We will be staying at a campground 6 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway in beautiful North Carolina. Every time we go on this trip, everyone agrees that this is one of the best times had by all and look forward to the next one. So far we have 5 couples (and seven bikes) making the annual trek northward to the mountains and some of the best motorcycle roads in the country.
